The Chain’s Path – Macro Photography
This is a series of Photographs, which declares the story of a chain, where its path started and where it followed, how it intertwines, what shaped it and made it wind to the place it ended up in the end. The objects it passes could be interpreted as symbolic – a watch, milk teeth, playing console memory cards, friendship bracelets, candles and a second chain. With a blooming Fantasy, a story unfolds: Of the beginning of a journey, growing up, playing games, using technology, making friends, having a fated encounter, all while time is running towards the end, with the flame of life burning down slowly. The photos are rather dark with little light spent by candlelight or the reflections of said objects, but mostly of the chain itself. This results in a moody, grungy atmosphere, reflecting the impending last ring in the chain.
Behind the Scenes: To achieve good macro photography results a ‚macro filter‘ was used for the camera lens by attaching it to the front. It is a +5 diopters lens filter, which enables shooting photos even closer than normally.
